*Focus on eating fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, fish/seafood, grass-fed meats, eggs, nuts, seeds & healthy oils (olive, walnut, coconut, avocado, flaxseed & red palm.
*Combine a Complex Carbohydrate, Healthy Fat and Lean Protein at each snack and meal
Snack Ex: 10 raw Almonds w/ organic medium apple
Meal Ex: Large green salad w/ lots of colorful veggies, ½ baked sweet potato, 3-4 oz of salmon, ¼ avocado & 2 tbsps balsamic vinegar on top
*Snacks should be about 150-200 calories (2 snacks per day) – IF HUNGRY)
* Drink 75 – 100 ounces of filtered water per day
*Eat Whole Foods – unprocessed- as close to the source as possible…If it comes out of a package it probably isn’t a good choice
*Eat every color of the rainbow everyday
*CUT OUT Dairy…It causes mucus in the body which causes inflammation…Dairy is not needed once you are past the age of 2! Opt for Nut Milks instead – see Amy Approved for all kinds of non-dairy options
*EARN YOUR CARBS…Have a cup of organic white rice on your lunch salad IF you “earned” the carbs during your workout that morning
*Start your day with a high protein / high fat breakfast – 2 scrambled eggs in coconut oil with 1/4 avocado on top
*Cut out fake sugars – Splenda, Equal etc… Better choice: Stevia, Coconut Sugar, Organic Honey, or Organic Maple Syrup
*NO White Flour – “Enriched Wheat” means white flour. Read all breads and crackers
*Watch alcohol intake. Limit to 1-2 small glasses per week
*NO High Fructose Corn Syrup – read your jellies, breads, crackers, salad dressings and all other labels
*Cut out Cream Based soups (Clam Chowder) Opt for broth based instead
*Drink Green Tea throughout your day (or any tea that appeals to you) helps to not snack as often
*PLAN your meals and snacks – have snacks w/ you if you are out and about
*Always choose WILD fish instead of farmed.
*Choose Organic Grass Fed Beef & Free Change Chicken when possible.
*Drink a warm glass of water w/ either a squeeze of lemon or a couple tbsps of organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar each morning. This helps to cleanse your system and get everything “going”.
