My Sister is ROCKING IT!!!


My little sister Erin May has been working her butt off & getting FIT for this Spring & Summer.  She is training for three 5K’s & one 10K!  I wrote her a 12 week workout plan and she is kicking some butt!!!  She works out 5-6 days per week which includes: running (she started with running/walking & is up to all running!), strength training – CIRCUIT – Amy Style, elliptical, hiking & yoga.  She is getting her hot body back (only 3 lbs from her goal/dream weight), but most importantly she is feeling STRONGER!!!  LOVE!!!  She is also working hard in the kitchen.  Her and her 2 year old daughter Ryah drink green smoothies daily, cook all of their meals at home, eat a ton of fruits & veggies and has really worked to increase her daily protein intake.

Keep it up sis – you are an inspiration for a lot of people!!!

Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot

Thanksgiving morning is a time to MOVE Your A**!!!  Find a local Turkey Trot 5K, 10K or 8 miler to get your calorie burn started early so you can relax and enjoy the rest of your day!

I found three different local Turkey Trots in my area:
San Luis Turkey Trot – 8 mile run &/or 2 mile walk (I am doing this one!)
Pismo Beach Turkey Trot – 5K or 10K on the beach
Paso Robles Turkey Trot – 10K

I searched a few cities so you can find YOUR local race!
Boise, ID – 5K
Palm Springs, CA
Dana Point, CA
Michigan
Austin, TX
Tampa Bay, FL
San Jose, CA
Cleveland, OH
Phoenix, AZ
Anchorage, AK (Nov 17th)
Seattle, WA
Portland, OR

Not a runner??  Do an Amy Approved circuit instead!!!!!

MOVE IT…


MOVE IT Workout:

Run 15 minutes EASY

Jump Lunges x 20
Oblique Plank x 15 each side
Push-ups x 15
(repeat 2 times)

Run 5 minutes HARD

Plie Jump Squats x 20 (touch hands to ground)
Tricep Chair Dips x 15
Full Sit-ups x 20
(repeat 2 times)

Run 5 minutes HARD

High Knee’s x 50 (swing arms BIG & gets knee’s HIGH)
Tricep Push-ups x 15 (drop to knees if needed)
Hip Tic Tocs
(repeat 2 times)

5 minute EASY run – Cool down

DOWN DOG
Quad Stretch

DONE!!

Burpee’s Challenge

I LOVE running the Shell Beach ridge but wanted to throw in a little strength work without being at the gym.  So I threw in 4 x 10 burpee’s throughout the 4 mile run.  I love “elements” & this run with burpee’s definitely does the trick!

I CHALLENGE you on your next run or power walk to throw in 4 sets of 10 burpee’s.  Report back on how it goes!!!
