Fitness & Health Take Small Disciplines…

LOVE this quote by Zig Ziglar!!! To live a healthy & fit life it takes small disciplines applied daily. Look around and you will find the fit people around you do the little things it takes to live a fit & healthy life. Small disciples applied daily will spill over into your career & personal life which will create happiness & success!!

A Few Amy Approved Daily Habits:

*Start your day with 1-2 capfuls Braggs Raw Apple Cider Vinegar or fresh squeezed lemon & warm water

*Protein & veggies ONLY at dinner

*Eat a high protein breakfast

*Make time for your workout! 30 min of intensity will do it

*Prep your food on Sundays to ensure a healthy start to your week

*Cut out dairy

*intensity is key to losing body fat – CIRCUIT!!!

*Always have water, a piece of fruit & a few almonds in your car for emergencies

*If you are going to drink like a fish – eat like a bird – protein & veggies only!

*Alway skip the bread basket

*Always choose vinegar based dressings on the side

*Eat adequate amounts of fat at every meal. Coconut oil & avocados are staples for me

*Do not snack in between meals unless you are hungry. Plan your snacks & stick to them. Extra munching will pack on pounds

*Never skip weekend workouts. Get outside & breathe some fresh air

103 Ways to Make 2013 Your Best Year Yet!!

One of my mentor’s Todd Durkin wrote this awesome list and I had to share it with you!!!  Todd was recently recognized as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People in Health & Fitness in 2012.”

1. Be the most positive person you know.

2. Get 1% better everyday.

3. Define your “game-changing” move in 2013. Then get it done!

4. Take more risks.

5. Do something that scares you everyday. It’s OK to be scared!

6. Regardless of your title at work, be a team-builder. Thank you Robin Sharma!

7. Remember that business is about relationships & connections.

8. People need motivation, accountability, and know how. Deliver it to them.

9. Write your eulogy and then live your life backwards.

10. Know your Big 5:  the 5 most important things that need to happen by the end of the year to make it feel like it truly has been the best year of your life.

11. Read your Big 5 every morning.

12. Post affirmations on your bathroom mirror.

The Ant Philosophy…Amy Approved!

Jim Rohn once said…

“I think everybody should study ants.  They have an amazing four-part philosophy.  Here is the first part: ants never quit.  That’s a good philosophy.  If they’re headed somewhere and you try to stop them, they’ll look for another way.  They’ll climb over, they’ll climb under, they’ll climb around.  They keep looking for another way.  What a neat philosophy, to never quit looking for a way to get where you’re supposed to go.

Second, ants think winter all summer.  That’s an important perspective.  You can’t be so naive as to think summer will last forever.  So ants are gathering their winter food in the middle of summer.

The third part of the ant philosophy is that ants think summer all winter.  That is so important.  During the winter, ants remind themselves, “This won’t last long – we’ll soon be out of here.”  And the first warm day, the ants are out.  If it turns cold again, they’ll dive back down, but then they come out the first warm day.  They can’t wait to get out.

And here’s the last part of ant philosophy.  How much will an ant gather during the summer to prepare for the winter?  All he possibly can.  What an incredible philosophy, the “all-you-possibly-can” philosophy.

Something will master and something will serve. Either you run the day or the day runs you; either you run the business or the business runs you.

Learn how to separate the majors and the minors. A lot of people don’t do well simply because they major in minor things.
